When it comes to choosing the right size for your window blinds, it's important to consider whether you want to mount them inside or outside the window frame. For inside mounting, the width of the window is equal to the width of the blind, and the height of the window is equal to the height of the blind. For example, if your window measures 23 inches in width and 72 inches in length, the blind width would be 23 inches and the blind height would be 72 inches.

On the other hand, if you choose to mount the blinds outside the window frame, you should add at least 4 inches to both the width and height of the window. In this case, the blind width would be 23 inches + 4 inches, and the blind height would be 72 inches + 4 inches.

It's important to note that the fabric width of the shade will be 0.8 inches shorter than the actual size of the shade. If your window height differs significantly from the existing blind height, it's recommended to choose a custom size to ensure a proper fit.
